Nallely

As some of you know, I have slowly but surely babystepped my way into the world of photography. And I am still very much a newbie. I got my camera about a year ago and have been taking my time learning how to do it right. Well, at least not rush into it and start whipping out images that have no skill to them. So, when I realized I had won a spot in an amazing workshop taught by one of the most amazing children’s photographers I’ve ever come across, I was thrilled! I acquired so much knowledge that day, particularly in editing techniques. My focus right now (no pun intended) is to keep practicing in manual mode. And to keep reading all my books on exposure and all that great stuff.

Now, I don’t have the goal of becoming a professional photographer, I just want to be good-ish so I can capture the people and things I love on film, in a creative way. I love being creative. But, if I did ever have a little side business, I would love to focus on newborns. They are a challenge yes, but I love everything about them, from their wrinkly brows to their tiny curled toes.

Enter Nallely.

A couple of days after my workshop I went to see my friend Angie’s baby at a hospital. And naturally I took my camera along. Here is my first ever shoot, with my first ever *real* edit. This was all shot inside a hospital room with not the best light, but I think they came out well. Thank you Angie and family for letting me photograph your gorgeous daughter! 🙂

Cade Starts Preschool

I can’t believe I’m the mother of a preschooler! My spunky boy was thrilled to bits to be attending school, and I’m so proud of him 🙂

Here is a picture I took on his first day so that I could capture this moment forever. I used some techniques I learnt from the amazing photography workshop I attended a few weeks ago. More on that later!

(Thanks Pinterest for inspiring me with your ideas for this).
